was set up in 2018 to support the health and wellbeing of children, young people and adults in the North East of England via the creative process offering art therapy on an individual basis or groups by a state registered Arts Therapist, Fiona Fitzpatrick.
Fiona is a Jungian, Trauma focused Therapist and incorporate EMDR therapy for trauma/PTSD and CAAT ( Childrens accelerated trauma treatment) into my practice.
Fiona works with adopted children, young people and families as a provider of therapeutic services for Adopt North East . I take private referrals to work with adults and older people. Either privately or bespoke public commissions.
Art Therapy is a psychotherapy that uses creative process to address emotional or behavioural issues. Fiona is a fully qualified, registered therapist delivering accredited forms of therapy.
I work with adopted children and families in person across North East of England and see adults in person and online across the globe.
Fiona is passionate about how the creative process can heal and change a person, helping to understand ourselves and our circumstances & behaviour and with this awareness find acceptance and heal from suffering.
Current Portfolio of work:
Fiona works with adopted children and young people who have developmental, complex trauma history that may present as emotional, behavioural, relational and mental health issues.
Fiona works with adults online and in the community as 1:1 therapy and group work. Adults seek out therapy for many reasons including self development, understanding self more, trauma, anxiety, low mood. Fiona also works with adults who are living with dementia and have traumatic brain injury.
Themes that Art Therapy can help with are low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, trauma to name a few.
